This documentary profile salutes Petula Clark, one of Britain's most enduring and internationally successful singers, actresses and icons from 60s pop music. The film follows Petula to New York as she films a commercial for her Sunset Boulevard tour her portrayal of Norma Desmond has been much acclaimed. She sings Downtown to the delight of thousands in Times Square, My love in Atlantic City and La Vie en Rose from the Olympia Theatre in Paris. To contrast this, the film joins her in Bexhill-on-Sea in England at the end of her 1998 British tour. The programme draws upon Clark's feature films and television appearances, such as London Town, The Dean Martin Show and Finian's Rainbow. Interviews with Anthony Newley, Peter Ustinov, Claude Wolff, Tony Hatch, Bill Kenwright and Don Black are included.
