After 50 years spent studying volcanoes, my professional life is drawing to a close. That's why i felt the need to talk about and explain a career that had a far from linar progression, partly via the abundant use of archive footage and partly with film shot today and which shows that volcanic landscapes change with time, sometimes as much as the volcanologist's theories.
